The weekend saw the launch of Yellowglen House at Melbourne Cup Carnival Preview Day and this Spring Racing Carnival, Yellowglen are doing things a little differently. As the Official Sparkling Wine of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the idea of trackside bubbles with best friends is one synonymous with the Yellowglen name. Yellowglen House however, will not only be a place to sip on sparkling while overlooking the straight of Flemington Racecourse, but rather a place to be spoilt silly.

The VIP experience begins when the most stylish and graceful race goers are presented with a solid golden key pendent by Yellowglen hosts – enabling them to ‘unlock’ a private booth in the expansive black and gold detailed marquee. From there, guests will be waited on hand and foot over the next two hours while enjoying the best trackside views and the best bubbles.

The concept of Yellowglen House is really one to be commended. It urges race goers to embrace elegance and a more traditional sense of the term ‘race wear’. Former years have seen the dress code slip (or was that the patrons?) to include everything from bandage to baby doll dresses and of course, the mandatory fake tan that looks like everyone got into a fight with a bottle of Le Tan and the tan won. Ladies, stop! Please consult the fabulous Fashion & Flemington coffee table book and take notes accordingly. Thankfully, Yellowglen House itself embodies the sophistication of the racing season that can sometimes be forgotten amongst the crowd who aren’t as lucky to be in the Birdcage.

The launch of Yellowglen House was hosted by Zoe Foster and saw Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador Alison Saville, Miss World Australia Amber Greasley and Kris Smith amongst other well dressed VIP guests in attendance. The fashionable femmes and gallant guys braved the icy winds on a very cold, very Melbourne afternoon however, the wet weather wasn’t enough to dampen their spirits.

Foster said of the initiative, “I think Yellowglen House is a terrific idea: by rewarding, lavishing and celebrating those who embody sophistication and impeccable taste at the races, we offer a tangible and exciting incentive to enjoy spring racing with class and style. It’s the ultimate gold star, really”. And who wouldn’t want to receive that gold star!? This place really is all class. It’s the perfect place to sit back then spruce up before you go and find your stranded, soggy and sore footed mates holding high heels in their hands.
