Melbourne’s high-end dining scene recently experienced a luxurious twist as The Dalmore single malt whisky took centre stage at Society Restaurant for an exclusive takeover. The event celebrated the exceptional craft of The Dalmore, one of Scotland’s most revered distilleries, known for its deep heritage and unique cask maturation process. The Dalmore’s rich, full-bodied whiskies — with notes of chocolate, orange, and spice — are crafted in the Scottish Highlands and often matured in rare and aged sherry casks, delivering unmistakable depth and complexity in every pour.
Bringing an international flair to the bar, The Dalmore enlisted the talents of Agostino Perrone, the award-winning Director of Mixology at London’s iconic The Connaught. Fresh off his recent cocktail collaboration with Stanley Tucci, Perrone joined forces with Society’s own Ago Schiavo to create a suite of extraordinary cocktails that showcased The Dalmore’s refined character. Guests were treated to a standout menu including the Goodfellas, a bold blend of The Dalmore Cigar Malt, cardamom leaf, sweet vermouth, black cardamom, balsamic, and bitters; the Faraway Collins, a refreshing highball with The Dalmore 12 Year Old, yuzu, eucalyptus leaf, and sarsaparilla soda; and the Royal Stag, a citrus-driven mix of The Dalmore 12 Year Old, pomelo, pineapple, sunrise lime, and native saltbush.
This elegant showcase not only highlighted The Dalmore’s versatility in mixology but also reflected Society’s ongoing commitment to curating premium, immersive dining and drinking experiences. For whisky lovers and cocktail aficionados alike, it was a rare opportunity to sip world-class spirits crafted by two of the best in the business — right in the heart of Melbourne.
