The iconic pie from Hobart-based Tasmanian Bakeries first landed in Bunnings Warehouse cafes in 2022, where it sold out across locations within weeks and reportedly outsold even the brand’s beloved classic beef pie. It returned for a limited run at Bunnings in March 2026, proving the obsession hadn’t faded, and now it’s making the leap into supermarket fridges.
The recipe is exactly what you’d hope for: 100% Australian beef loaded with tomato ketchup, American-style mustard and dill pickle juice, all smothered in a rich cheese sauce and packed into 128 layers of crispy puff pastry. The top gets a golden glaze, poppy seeds and a sprinkle of parmesan for good measure.
Best of all, they’re ready in just 15 minutes, in either an air fryer or a conventional oven. The pies are delivered fresh from the Hobart bakery (not frozen) using a clever air-removal packaging process that keeps them fridge-fresh until you’re ready to bake.
Cheeseburger Pies are sold in twin packs and can be found in the refrigerated or ready-made meals aisle at Woolworths in Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and select New South Wales stores. National Pies’ wider range including the classic beef and other flavours are available at Coles, IGA and Foodworks nationwide.
