A SICILIAN STORY TOLD IN FIVE COURSES T MISTER BIANCO
Mister Bianco in Kew is set to transport diners to the sun-soaked streets of Sicily with its special dinner event Once Upon A Time In Sicily, happening on Tuesday 24 June. Chef-owner Joe Vargetto is crafting a deeply personal five-course menu inspired by his childhood in a Bayside Sicilian household, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Guests will be greeted with a cocktail—Dirty Sicilian—and black olive puff pastry grissini, before being treated to four additional courses, each matched with exceptional Sicilian wines. Expect dishes like slow-cooked tuna with fennel, traditional cavatelli with sardines and pine nuts, and a standout roasted goat dish accompanied by eggplant and rich Sicilian reds.
The evening is both a culinary tribute to Vargetto’s mother and a celebration of Sicily’s resourceful, no-waste cooking traditions. Priced at $125 per person, the event promises an authentic and elevated taste of Sicily not typically found on the Mister Bianco menu. Finishing on a sweet note with Torta della Nonna and a glass of zibibbo, the dinner will be a soulful homage to heritage, flavour, and family. Limited seats are available, and bookings can be made via TryBooking. More details at misterbianco.com.au.
