Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival presented Premium Runway 3 in partnership with Instyle Magazine at the historic Royal Exhibition Building on Tuesday night. Returning after the magazine’s 15th birthday celebration last year, the models walked the runway in head to toe glamour. Peachy hues over the eyes and centre part waves swept the catwalk. Couturing headed backstage to catch all the action and spoke to Hair Director Kenneth Stoddart on recreating the hair looks.

MAKEUP BY RAE MORRIS SUPPORTED BY REVLON

Rae Morris teamed up with Revlon cosmetics at Priceline to create the peachy eyes and we have all the products she used to achieve the look. Using a medium coverage of foundation to create a polished finish to the skin, Rae and her team of professionals blended to create an airbrushed dewy finish and applied concealer on any areas needed.

Adding a wash of Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid Line Lash in Peach Prism all over the lid, the eyes were lit with one coat of the new Revlon Ultimate All in 1 Mascara and finished with Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Brown in the inner rim of the eye. For extra drama, glitter eyeshadow should be applied all over the peach.

Brush and fill brows with powder for a soft full shape and finish off with a soft pink gloss on the lips. Rae used Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Snow Pink – our new favourite lip colour!

HAIR BY KENNETH STODDART SUPPORTED BY SCHWARZKOPF

In true Instyle fashion, Hair Director Kenneth Stoddart and his team created beautiful long waves at Premium Runway 3. Adding a twist to the preparation, models were spritzed with sea salt spray for texture and hair wrapped in foil. Something we’ve seen over Instagram, the new way of waves has finally hit Melbourne Fashion Festival.

“We’re going to braid the hair, wrap it with foil and press it with irons so it keeps its shape,” said Stoddart.

“Once we take it out, it becomes really wild and bare, and then we’ll put more products and texture.”

Models were fitted with hair extensions for length and given a sharp centre part. To recreate the look for the weekend, follow Kenneth’s tips below:

Schwarzkopf @ VAMFF

Step 1: Apply Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Sea Salt Beach Look Texture Spray to dry hair and brush or comb through

Step 2: Part the hair down the middle from front hairline to nape and plait each side from roots to ends in a large thick plait.

Step 3: Cover the plait with aluminum foil and clamp down the hair with your straightening iron.

Step 4: Leave to cool and then unwrap the foil and braid.

Step 5: Run your fingers through the hair to break up the braided waves and finish with Schwarzkopf Extra Care Instant Volume Powder.
