An art exhibition and dessert? Yes, please. Melbourne’s tantalising and daring dessert café, LuxBite will be bringing just that to the city’s doorstep this November. Bernard Chu, dessert master of LuxBite has joined forces with Thai artist and sweet specialist,  ANO, to create a pop-up exhibit Sweet, Home, Sweet in its flagship patisserie South Yarra café.

Influenced by doodling and surrealist vibes from her unconscious mind, ANO’s graphic designs can be described as playful and childish. Her work is inspired by the world around her and the belief that mistakes can lead to new ideas. The exhibit will feature ANO’s colourful, fun work on canvas with all nine pieces available for purchase.

“Melbourne is my second home – I studied and lived here for eight years, I also worked at LuxBite for a period of time,” said ANO. “My experience in this city has always been full of excitement, fun and adventure so I wanted to make sure this was conveyed through my work.” “One of the most exciting parts of Sweet, Home, Sweet is the special edition ANO x LuxBite cake. It will be a part of the exhibit and exclusively available to purchase throughout the exhibition period.”

In true LuxBite style, the indulgent ANO x LuxBite limited edition dessert will feature chiffon sponge, Thai milk tea infused mascarpone cream, coconut jelly, condensed milk panna cotta soaked sponge, strawberry crispy pearls and marshmallow. Sweet tooths will also receive a limited edition Sweet, Home, Sweet sticker with their ANO x LuxBite dessert.

LuxBite Chef, Bernard Chu says LuxBite is the ideal space for Sweet, Home, Sweet, because there’s no better place to marry dessert and art within the walls of this artistic dessert café. “ANO’s dessert is a true interpretation of her work – it’s fun, clever and creative,” he said. “With LuxBite’s quintessential Melbourne feel and ANO’s love for the city, we think it’s the perfect mix. The space’s vibe meshes really well with the art, too. “We pride ourselves on our daring and delicious concepts here at LuxBite, and truly believe they’re pieces of art. Throughout November and December customers will be able to see we’re not just a café, but also a creative space.”

The Sweet, Home, Sweet pop-up exhibition will run from now until December 24 at LuxBite’s flagship patisserie café, at 38 Toorak Road, South Yarra.
