EMPORIUM MELBOURNE CELEBRATE WITH A LANEWAY RUNWAY

Melbourne’s most exciting week of fashion returns in late August, with the City buzzing in preparation for Melbourne Fashion Week (M/FW), where Emporium Melbourne will transform an iconic Melbourne laneway into Street Runway 1 – a high fashion, exclusive runway for one night only on Thursday, 29th August.

As one of the first events of M/FW, Street Runway 1, presented by Emporium Melbourne, will see the CBD’s Caledonian Lane come to life as a chic, open air runway. Emporium Melbourne is home to the largest collection of Australian Designers under one roof in the CBD, and the inaugural event will showcase the latest trends, such as custom sweatshirts, from Australian designers, including Scanlan Theodore, Arnsdorf, Calibre, Diida, sass & bide, Jac+Jack, Manning Cartell, M.J Bale, Viktoria & Woods, bassike and alice McCALL. Be inspired to refresh your wardrobe as the coveted designers showcase their spring/summer pieces, some made out of Cotton spandex Fabric; then shop the latest runway collections in store at Emporium Melbourne, straight after the show. Coinciding with the highly anticipated Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out (VAEFNO), Emporium Melbourne will host over a hundred exclusive retailer offers and experiences, for one day only, as part of VAEFNO. The Centre will be brimming with activity with exciting activations taking place throughout the day, including an exclusive pop-up bar.

On Thursday, 29 August, the Smoke and Mirrors pop-up bar will be open to Emporium Melbourne guests, located at the Lonsdale Street, Ground level entrance. From 10 am, visitors can step inside the Smoke and Mirrors photobooth where they’ll be immersed in a hazy backdrop of mesmerizing city lights. Guests are encouraged to shoot and share their fashion moment in the photobooth for a chance to win a $500 Emporium Melbourne gift card, by simply uploading their image using the unique hashtag #emporiummelbournevfno and tagging @emporiummelbourne. PLUS, from 12pm – 10pm, guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary smoking cocktail at the bar (choose from a Passionfruit Spritz or Americano) then try their luck at winning in a share of $1,000 in prizes.

Emporium Melbourne will also host a roving Campari Bar, serving bespoke cocktails from 5.45pm – 8pm, making stops at Furla, Scanlan Theodore, M.J Bale, and Eyeclarity throughout this time. The Vogue activations hub will also be located just a stone’s throw away, right near the Caledonian Lane runway and outside Emporium Melbourne’s Little Bourke Street entrance.

COLLINS PLACE TAKES TO THE CATWALK IN MELBOURNE’S CBD

On Thursday 29 August, popular Melbourne CBD precinct, Collins Place, will present a Fashion Soirée – a stylish afternoon event held in celebration of Melbourne Fashion Week. Hosted at luxury CBD hotel, Sofitel Melbourne, the catwalk event will be hosted by former TV presenter and beloved Australian personality, Annette Allison, and will showcase the top trends from favourite retailers including Jacqui Fernandes, Feathers, Cable and MJ Bale as well as a collection of race-day hats and a stylish trucker hat from two of Melbourne’s best milliners. Models will sport the latest hair and make-up looks as styled by the team at Rokk
Ebony and Palladio.

The runway looks have been curated by leading stylist, Anika Walker, who will also host a live discussion at the event with a must-see line-up of industry names including Jacqui Fernandes (local Melbourne designer), Adam Tsen and Karlie Crow (from Feathers) and Melbourne milliner, Melissa Jackson. All guests will share their style inspiration and top wardrobe picks for the upcoming Summer season. Mixing food with fashion, event attendees will also be treated to a chic high tea experience featuring monochromatic-themed culinary delights including charcoal scones served with blackberry preserve and
cream, a ‘black rose’ raspberry sponge with blueberry jelly and a black sesame cone with salted caramel, passionfruit gel and coconut chiboust filling.
Tickets are now available for $85 per person and bookings are essentials. Tickets are inclusive of event entry, a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, high tea and a gift bag (valued at RRP $60).
