On a trip to Buenos Aires, a year ago in August, my Australian friends spent two weeks persuading me to visit Melbourne again. After a bit of soul searching and wondering why I was dead set on settling down and buying a house, I decided this year that if I was going to do it, it had to be now (I aint getting any younger). And so the flights were booked, Australia was calling, as was a two week trip in Thailand on the way (travel is always on the agenda).

I arrived into Melbourne in October and the past few weeks have already flown by in a heartbeat. Having previously studied in Melbourne eight years ago, I knew it was the city for me with its quirky cultural vibe, the friendly people and the diverse range of things to do. I spoke to a relative who lives out here who said “there’s always an event going on every day in Melbourne.” That’s exactly how I want the lifestyle section of Couturing to feel, a go to guide for events and posts on everything you need to know about a Melbourne lifestyle. Even if you don’t have time to visit them all yourself, Couturing will give you a guide to make you feel like you are there with us.

Anticipate articles from our lifestyle team on the latest bands, festivals, new sports classes, health, travel in and around Melbourne and Australia, theatre and film previews, art and anything else we think you need to know about!

We also love to hear your feedback about any topics you think we should be covering, so feel free to contact myself or the team via email or our social sites.

I’m looking forward to seeing what this city has to offer a Yorkshire lass on my second visit to Melbourne!
