I won’t lie: one of the best things about my mornings is applying my makeup and experimenting with different looks each day. However, it is important that some days I give my face a bit of a breather. Because I still need to groom myself to a certain extent, I use a few products to perfect my natural features and to make me look like I have zero makeup on.

Clinique Tinted Moisturiser

This provides just enough coverage to even out and perfect my skin tone. I used this all through high school and the smell always takes me back to summer in Year 10.  The Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint has been discontinued, but the newer Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser is just as great.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Pen

YSL’s cult highlighter pen lends radiance to the face. I apply it beneath the eyes, down the bridge of the nose and across the top of the cheekbones for a natural highlight.

Benefit Speed Brow in Neutral

I have pretty full brows and they always require taming when I wake up. Brows will not shift at all with this brow gel and the slight brown tint helps to make them look slightly more consistent.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Curling lashes is a fast and simple step that really wakes up the eyes. I give my lashes a good curl and will often leave it there; however, if I feel that I look particularly tired I will apply a tiny amount of mascara by wiggling the wand at the base of the lashes only. Clear mascara is also a great tool for ensuring that lashes stay curled but also look natural.
