GO FRENCH AT BISTRO GITAN

A contemporary French bistro set in a stunning Victorian building on leafy Toorak Road West, Bistro Gitan is the perfect venue to celebrate a beautiful Mother’s Day. Guests can tuck in to a four-course set menu priced at $95, with dishes including jerusalem artichoke soup to begin, followed by cured Ora King salmon or gnocchi parisienne. Introducing the inaugural Chocolate, Cheese & Wine Festival, an event for all the mums of Melbourne that is not to be missed! In partnership with Milk the Cow, Cuvée, Kennedy & Wilson, Ministry of Chocolate & Melbourne Cocoa, families can enjoy food and wine tastings, live music and kid’s entertainment on Sunday 12th of May, from 11:00am–5:30pm. Milk the Cow Licensed Fromagerie will be running Cheese, Wine & Chocolate matching sessions in The Conservatory. Guided by cheese mongers and sommeliers, Mum can enjoy a selection of Rochford Wines perfectly matched with their cheese and chocolate partners.

Bringing your little ones? Take advantage of the professional child minding service for children seven and under, so Mum can relax and enjoy her day. Treat yourself at the custom truffle bar with Kennedy & Wilson, with chocolate dipped strawberries with an abundance of delicious toppings from Ministry of Chocolate,or devour chocolate delights from Melbourne Cocoa. Rochford Wines’ head chef Raki Andriana will be cooking up a storm with a mouth-watering four-course Mother’s Day lunch. Or for those craving an Italian feast, head to 400 Gradi Yarra Valley to indulge in a three-course sharing menu,complete with Johnny Di Francesco’s award winning Margherita Verace Pizza. KING & GODFREE HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERY MUM

There’s one day of the year where it’s all about mum, and this Mother’s Day there will be no better place than to spoil her across the weekend than at King & Godfree. The iconic Carlton venue, home to a deli, espresso bar, rooftop and soon to be wine and cellar bar will play host to an array of special events and offerings. Whether it be a Gnocchi masterclass, learning the traditional techniques of pasta making, a complimentary prosecco on the roof at Johnny’s Green Room or an elegant
set menu at the soon to be open wine bar, Agostino, there’s a little something for every mum.

King & Godfree Cellar will be hosting the first ever Gnocchi Masterclass held in the venue’s cellar on Saturday 11 May from 11am-2pm. The class will involve learning the basic skills of gnocchi making and shaping using various tools, just to mix it up a little. Following the class, an Italian feast will be dished up with a selection of sauces, cheese, salads and bread paired with wine from the Agostino bottle shop. Gnocchi Masterclass is $95pp and is an intimate, hands on course with only limited tickets available. Over at the Espresso Bar $1 from every café latte donated to Miracle Mums, a charity supporting the vital work of The Royal Women’s Hospital. Alongside every purchase in the espresso bar, a homemade hazelnut and milk chocolate baci will be gifted just for mum, just to make her day that little bit sweeter.

Agostino will be opening its Lygon St doors for mammas, nonnas and all the women in your life this Mother’s Day with seating available for lunch and dinner. With the 50-seater wine bar officially opening in May, this is a delicious preview of what is to come. The Mother’s Day menu has been carefully curated by the kitchen team at King & Godfree serving up authentically Italian dishes, such as Piedmonte’s peppers with squacquerone topped with basil oil and grilled octopus with potato, nduja and black garlic. For secondi, market fish with zucchini flowers or beef short rib with charred onion or a home-made ricotta gnocchi with pumpkin, stinging nettle and pecorino. Delicious sides include insalata verde and fried potatoes with garlic and rosemary, and to finish, hazelnut delizioso otherwise known as hazelnut cream sandwich. The Mother’s Day menu is $80 pp with some of Australia & Italy’s finest blends also on offer.
