It’s been 12 years since a 15 year old Brooke Shields controversially declared that nothing came between her and her Calvins. Since then, Calvin Klein Jeans has continued to be a significant player in the denim market and continue to successfully push the envelope when it comes to advertising.

After seeing the amazing new campaign images for Calvin Klein Jeans featuring a topless Lara Stone along side male model Matthew Terry on St Bart’s Guanahani beach, other than make me want to find the nearest gym, I was tempted to check out the new season jewel tone jeans. After wearing the same pair of jeans for the past 5 years, the denim section of my wardrobe was in dire need of an update.

Like the perfect partner, the perfect pair of jeans is notoriously hard to find, the fit, colour, style, etc has to all be just right. This probably explains why I haven’t been in any rush to find a new pair.

A visit to the Calvin Klein store in Chadstone made me wonder why I hadn’t gone jean shopping earlier. The wall of denim with jeans with any fit and colour you could imagine, was complimented by an edgy range of clothing and accessories. This season’s collection started with an early drop of black essentials (perfect for any Melbourne uniform), which gradually moved into earthy neutrals with a drop of brights expected in store soon, think canary yellow and magenta jeans.

This season, you can expect on-trend sheepskin detailing, checks, fine knits and wedge boots. These can be paired with bright skinnies in the most flattering fits and styles.

Over the past years, the denim market has been flooded with new brands so it would be easy for a classic brand like Calvin Klein Jeans to become outdated and forgotten. But to their credit, they have continued to produce on trend styles at a very affordable price point. In Australia, they continue to go from strength to strength, opening two new stores over the past year – one in The Star in Sydney and the other in the premier destination in South Australia, Burnside Village.

So next time you are looking to update your denim wardrobe, make sure you pay a visit into your nearest Calvin Klein Jeans because I can guarantee, once you try a on pair of their jeans, nothing will come between you and your Calvins!
