Aurelio Costarella celebrates 30 years in the fashion industry with a display of his expert craftsmanship in his MBFWA show. Adding to the sensory experience, singer Grace Woodroofe performed live as models took to a stage backdropped with a murals splashed with an abundance of colour, created by artist Waldemar Kolbusz.

Costarella’s collection featured his trademark embellishments, draping and feathers. Based on a palette of black, deep turquoise, taupe and silvers, Costarella presented beautiful cocktail dresses and long flowing gowns. Fitted leather dresses and strapless dresses heavy with sequins added interesting textures. Full face masks made from netting and delicate beading added another dimension to the presentation.

With his beautiful, feminine designs, it’s easy to see why Costarella has had longevity in such a difficult industry. The collection is sure to appeal to Costarella’s loyal customer base, including Harper’s Bazaar Editor Kellie Hush, Laura Dundovic and Glenn McGrath with wife Sara, who were all spotted in the crowd.
