Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2018 brought out the best in Aussie fashion last week and gave us a sneak peak at what we’ll be seeing on the streets later this year. The week also brought us some of the best in Beauty and we’ve picked some of our favourite trends that you can try at home.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SKIN WITH LANCOME

Lara Srokowski, Lancôme’s Director of Artistry created several looks across the week including the beauty look for Camilla and Marc, Albus Lumen, C/MEO Collective and Acler. For each of these looks, there was a significant focus on the base and making sure the skin was the signature for the look.

“The signature trend in every look was effortless skin, incorporating Lancôme’s signature Parisienne glow service. Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concetrate was used to encapsulate a natural glow on the skin before makeup application. As we all know beautiful make-up starts with beautiful skin and that’s something I truly believe in. Our iconic Teint Idole Ultra Wear was used across all beauty looks, in addition to a few drops of Custom Glow drops for a natural glowy finish. Having 40 shades allowed us to perfectly match the diversity in the models’ skin tones for a perfect glowing complexion”

LOVE YOUR OWN HAIR WITH CLOUD NINE

Lauren McCowan, creative director of Cloud Nine, created a multitude of unique looks for the C/MEO Collective showcase at MBFWA 2018 –with a real focus on enhancing each model’s natural hair type. Undone knotted buns, loose, relaxed waves and ringlet curls graced the runway. Dusting the looks with chic hair beads from KELA Hair Jewellery included a touch of elegance.Embracing individuality was the centre of each of these key looks developed for the colour-filled C/MEO range.
“I wanted to explore the two biggest trends globally right now which is the ‘Art of the Individual’ and ‘Self-Acceptance’ – exploring and celebrating each models individual hair type and texture. Working and building a beautiful base, quality to the hair and then using Cloud Nine to seal that in and create beautiful finishes without compromising the quality of each girls hair” – McCowan says
Lauren used Cloud Nine’s Airshot dryer and Cloud Nine’s Micro Iron as her key tools for the show.
GUERLAIN’S FRENCH GIRL INSPIRATION

For LEE MATHEWS 2018 MBFW Show Guerlain created a French Girl makeup look. A look in celebration of the 190 years of the brand and of the launch of their latest lipstick Rouge G.

Makeup Director Claire Thomson mainly used skincare create a refined look, yet natural and elegant.

40’s INSPIRED TWIST WITH WELLA AT ALICE MCCALL

“I wanted to create a style that embodied the Alice McCall girl, but still captured the bold confidence that filtered through Alice’s striking collection. We created 40’s inspired twists that – instead of sitting pretty – sat up tall, strong, slick and structured the face to give our Alice McCall girl her fierce, yet still beautiful, feminine look.” Renya Xydis – Wella Professionals Creative Director ANZ.

Key products used for the look included EIMI Perfect Setting to prep the hair, EIMI Ocean Spritz to add texture, EIMI Stay Styled for styling and EIMI Glam Mist for added shine at the end.
