New York based perfume house Joya have launched their fourth perfume Foxglove, which will be available exclusively on Net-A-Porter. Inspired by the pseudo-poisonous Foxglove plant that intertwined itself all around New York City in the 19th century, the scent is an exploration of this lush green foliage. Describing the scent, Joya Founder and President Frederick Bouchardy said “With Foxglove, we are striving to capture that feeling of sanctuary – and, more literally, a kind of soft, green explosion. We sourced beautiful and extremely rate naturals and speciality raw materials to give the fragrance a real sensation of bursting stems, stamens and leaves.”

To create the unique fragrance, top notes of blood orange, salt meadow grass and hyacinth leaves are delicately blended with middle notes of honeyed jasmine, camellia and jonquille. Bottom notes of treaty oak, white cedar and wild musk round out the delightfully wicked scent.

“I am so proud of this creation” said Bouchardy. “For the past year, we have been busy building out our studio and digital platforms and cultivating collaborative offerings and unique home goods. For perfume, we just have to go the extra mile to be sure it can be a timeless and true signature scent. Floxglove is our most evocative work to date – it truly expresses who we are as designers and manufacturers in New York City, and I’m hopeful and confident our customers will be delighted.”

To create the scent, Bouchardy and the Joya creative team undertook extensive research about the botanical history of New York City. They met with horticulturalists and delved into the original Central Park History Guide written by the Park;s first Curator, Henry Hope Reed.

In a unique move, Foxglove will not be available in bricks and mortar stores yet, meaning consumers will have to trust Joya and Net-A-Porter to accurately convey the mood and feeling of the scent. “We are thrilled that Joya has selected NET-A-PORTER.COM as the exclusive retailer of their new Foxglove fragrance launch”, said David Olsen, Vice President of Beauty for NET-A-PORTER.COM. “We are a huge fan of the brand as evidenced by the fact that Joya was the first fragrance company we launched. We’re excited to share this amazing new fragrance with our customers around the world.”

Foxglove is available in a full-size 75ml custom, racing green porcelain – stained and slip cast by hand bottle. The applicator wand is dipped in 22 karat gold. It is also available in a travel-size 10ml bottle. The bottle is acid etched green glass, printed in 24 karat gold, with a roller ball. You can also purchase Foxglove soap made from saponified olive, coconut, palm and fragrance oils.
