After attending the Whitehouse Institute of Design Graduate Exhibition and Parade, it’s safe to say we should all be excited by the future of fashion, styling and design in Australia.

Developing talent and skills for over 20 years, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia, lead by the inspirational Leanne Whitehouse, has not only supported their students through out their time at Whitehouse, but have assisted them find careers after study.

To celebrate the 2011 graduating class of Whitehouse’s Bachelor of Design, Whitehouse students created a beautiful exhibition and runway show displaying their works.

The Styling and Interior Design students each created an installation in an open gallery where guests could mingle while viewing each of the pieces.  From photographic installations to recreations of mini-interior spaces, each exhibit showcased the unique style of each student.

Guests then headed upstairs for the runway show where the Fashion students displayed 3 to 5 pieces from their collections. It was fantastic seeing the different designs and styles of each designer. From ready-to-wear pieces with beautiful prints, colours, textures and silhouettes, to more dramatic gowns which were almost like pieces of art, the students of Whitehouse impressed the crowd with their skill and imagination.

Couturing would like to thank the staff, students and team at Whitehouse (particularly Billie Whitehouse and Robyn Ottone) for hosting such a wonderful event.

Congratulations to the graduating students. The team at Couturing wish you all the best for the future.

Images from the event will be uploaded to the Couturing Facebook Page later this week so make sure you check it out and ‘like’ it for all the latest updates.
