Peters Drumstick is excited to join forces once more with Clean Up Australia on the ‘Let’s Clean Up Our Backyard’ campaign, a spirited endeavour aimed at safeguarding cherished Australian summer experiences. This initiative builds on the triumphs of the previous ‘Let’s Clean Up Our Summer’ campaign, which inspired the collection of over 5,000 pieces of litter in exchange for Drumstick’s novel flavours, thereby cleaning our beaches, parks, and rivers. This year, Drumstick amplifies its commitment by focusing on urban and suburban areas to prevent waste from polluting our natural habitats.

To inspire community participation in the ‘Let’s Clean Up Our Backyard’ campaign, Drumstick has planned engaging events at Sydney’s Martin Place and Bondi Beach on February 9th and 10th. Attendees will be treated to Drumstick’s latest ice cream flavours – Iced Latte and Choc Raspberry Brownie – in return for collecting litter, motivating the community to unite and beautify their surroundings. The campaign will also make its way to Melbourne, with appearances at Prahran Square and Federation Square on February 16th and 17th.

Highlighting this year’s efforts is a unique, Drumstick-shaped rubbish bin designed to visually track the community’s litter collection efforts, showcasing the environmental impact. This campaign is more than just enjoying sumptuous ice creams; it’s about encouraging communal responsibility towards maintaining clean neighbourhoods and celebrating the Australian spirit of camaraderie and environmental conservation.

Last year’s ‘Let’s Clean Up Our Summer’ campaign saw a remarkable 30% increase in Clean Up Australia registrations, with 750,000 Australians participating and 5,000 Clean Up kits distributed. In continuation of these efforts, Drumstick pledges $250,000 to Clean Up Australia to support the distribution of free Clean Up Kits, available for order through the Clean Up Australia x Drumstick website. This initiative aims to empower Australians to actively engage in local clean-up activities.

Clean Up Australia Day is scheduled for Sunday, 3rd March, 2024, inviting Australians to participate by selecting one of the special Drumstick flavours, scanning the QR code, and joining the movement with a Clean Up Australia kit.

Adding a sweet incentive, Drumstick introduces two enticing new flavours, Iced Latte and Choc Raspberry Brownie, each inspired by the essence of urban and suburban life. The Iced Latte flavour offers a refreshing mix of vanilla and coffee, enhanced with espresso syrup and chocolate flakes, while the Choc Raspberry Brownie combines vanilla, chocolate brownie, and raspberry sauce topped with brownie pieces, capturing the heart of suburban delights.

Andrea Hamori, Peters Head of Marketing, and Pip Kiernan, Chair of Clean Up Australia, both highlight the critical role of community involvement and the powerful impact of collective action in environmental preservation, encouraging Australians to contribute locally to significant environmental improvements. This collaboration underlines the shared commitment to fostering a cleaner, more sustainable environment through practical and rewarding actions.
