SS2014_DionLee_Look_16

Entitled ‘Four Seasons’, Dion Lee’s Spring Summer Collection was the perfect first foray into New York Fashion Week for the Australian based designer.

A tran-seasonal collection, Four Seasons is designed with both the northern and southern hemispheres in mind.  The collection features Lee’s signature architectural, sculptural shapes and contrasts hard and soft elements through silhouette and fabrics, and the show included an incredible light installation from artist Kit Webster.

From heavy patent leather to light-as-air sheer silk georgette to bonded wool, Lee covers all textural bases. Summer skivvies were key as were moulded neoprene and swim silhouettes mixed with elegant evening wear. Grunge-luxe looks were mixed effortlessly with ultra-bright, structural dresses in directional cuts and fresh, trans-seasonal colours.
