Hundreds of dreadlocks, plaits and extensions filled the room backstage at last night’s grand showcase Camilla. Leading Australian hair stylist and L’Oréal Professionnel VAMFF Hair Director Brad Ngata assisted with bringing the designer’s creative vision to life.

Taking inspiration from fierce warriors, Brad and his team embodied tribal glamazons and ancient warrior princesses.

“This is such a dramatic hair look. The Camilla woman is a warrior, who’s strong and fearless. To reflect this in the hair we’ve built loads of texture into it by using hair extensions, seas salt and texturizing sprays and mousses,” explains Brad Ngata for L’Oréal Professionnel.

Feathers and messy top knots, side plaits and dreadlocks took centre stage with models looking ready for battle.

TIP: Prepare dreadlock hair extensions and five-plait basket weaving prior to commencing hair. Always make more than required to ensure you have enough to fill in the missing pieces.

MAKE-UP LOOK BY L’OREAL PARIS

Carefully curated by L’Oréal Paris Make-up Director Elsa Morgan and the team of L’Oreal Paris professionals, warm earthy tones were the theme in this runway look.

“Camilla wanted the girls to look like game of thrones, crossing deserts on horseback like modern day warriors going to war,” explains Elsa Morgan.

“We kept the look quit tonal, very earthy bronzes and gold’s blended into the skin”.

Using the three darker colours in the L’Oréal  Paris Colour Riche Eyeshadow Quad in Forever Bronze, gold was used for a highlight across the face reaching tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupids bow. Then L’Oréal Paris Glam Bronze Le Terra was used all over the face. This gave the models “the most glamorous dirty look”.

Finishing with fierce sculpted brows and L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in 374 Intense Plum for a deep lip finish.

TIP: Intense plum lip is strong beautiful stain colour. Press the pigment into the centre of your lip to build up the colour first and blend outwards to the corners.
