The people at the Windsor Workshop have gutted an old Patersons Cake shop and put everything back together using craft glue, glitter, fabric and creativity. A bunch of photographers, artists, designers and the like have been hanging out in their little cubby house, whittling away gifts and goods. Today they will be opening their doors for your purchasing pleasure for a grand Christmas market.

Movements like Occupy Christmas and the Flinders St Shopping night communicate the need to shop local and support Melbourne’s designers and craftsmen in the holiday season. It can be tough to pair people with presents but a handmade delight always has much more character than something mass-produced.

Samples and seconds from Violet & I will be on hand along with vintage and handmade jewellery, prints from their resident artists and they’ve even got handmade cards to perch atop your new locally made gifts.

Couturing will be there taking photos and wrapping up the event (in festival paper).

The Windsor Workshop is located; level 1, tenancy 1, 115 Chapel St Windsor.
