HAIR BY KEVIN.MURPHY

Channeling a 1940’s Southern European gypsy, Kevin Murphy styled an elegant wavy-twisted hairdo.

The look featured an array of waves with two tiny braided wraps at the nape of the neck. Kevin primed wet hair using SHIMMER.SHINE for a hydrated surface and combed the hair back into a loose low pony.

“We hid most of the hair underneath then roll them into two tiny braids that sit up really flat just above the neck. Then we used a deep waver and waved the top layer of the hair and pinned them to secure the wave-effect,” said Kevin.

Prepping the hair with HAIR.RESORT Spray and BODY.BUILDER, Kevin pulled the lower section of hair away and separate into two low ponytails. Next, a large curling tong is applied to the top sections of the hair to create a combination of wavy, straight and messy texture. Securing the hair with clips as it cools down, Kevin braided the ponytails then rolled the braid into a coil placing it to the nape and sewing tight with thread.

Sharing a trick to the hair look, Kevin suggests to only tong the top section.

“A lot of people go wrong when they curl all of their hair at once. So make sure to take away the hair you are not using and only curl the top layer.”MSFW - PHOTOS BY GHADEER EL-KHUB

Pulling out a few wisps of hair and a spray of SESSION.SPRAY gave it a textured finish.

MAKE UP BY MECCA COSMETICA

Raving for a ‘sheen finish’, Mecca Cosmetica’s Artistic Director Kenneth Higgins kept the gypsy look true to its meaning. With a show full of embellishments, richness and exotic vibes, the makeup dared to bare.

Complementing the hair, Kenneth used NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadows for the dramatic creamy surface.

“It’s layers. It’s richness. It’s a little bit dirty and rough around the edges, but she has an amazing hot bright lip and that’s her signature,” said Kenneth.

In his third year directing MSFW for Mecca, Kenneth mixed the intensity of the eyes by using wet and dry shades for a sheen effect. Opting for NARS Red Square in Bright Orange Red – the cosmetic giants’ most popular shade – for a standout lip.

Clumpy lashes, made up from a strip of cut up lashes were infused with the model’s natural lashes and mascara for days.

For a refined skin tone using Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation 1 and a warmer bronzing gel, Kenneth reminded us of a very spring exotic look.

“Remember, it’s all about the polish. Sheen, sheen, sheen!.”
