Major beauty sponsors of MBFWA, Redken and Maybelline, have set up two fantastic spots at Carriageworks in Sydney, the site of Australian Fashion Week for 2013.
Attendees of MBFWA can get their hair treated with professional hair stylists at Redken, or spend some time getting their make up done or touched up or even their nails done at Maybelline. As a beauty aficianado, I couldn’t wait to spent some time at Redken and Maybelline.
As major hair sponsor, Redken’s hair lounge is everything a hair fanatic could ever want in one place. Complete with a salon style set up, and a wall of Redken products, it is like you’ve gone to heaven. I was lucky enough to be treated to a hair makeover in time for my first runway show.
Redken stylist Bre used Redken Heat Styling Actif to prep my hair before using a straightener to slowly curl my hair to give soft waves and volume. As a person with straight hair, it was the perfect antidote for doing something different at MBFWA. The use of the product and straightner helped to keep the waves in my hair and produce a voluminous shape. The treatment was finished off with Redken’s new Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense to condition and shine my hair. A few drops of the Diamond oil to the mid-end of my hair, helped to add extra shine to my hair and finish my look.
At Maybelline New York’s counter, I was treated to a new nail colour from Maybelline New York’s Color Show range. The colours in the Color Show range from bright yellow to various shades of pink and to the other end of the color spectrum with dark blue and black. The colour I chose was called Paint the Town which was quite apt given it was a beautiful shade of red. Other visitors opted to have their lips updated with the latest colours from the Color Sensational High Shine Gloss and Baby Lips Loves Color lip balm ranges.
Look out for the Redken and Maybelline NY lounges in the Hub at Carriageworks during MBFWA. Product can be found at www.redken.com.au or www.maybelline.com.au
