I love headpieces, and not only just for the Spring Racing Carnival. I’d wear a headpiece every day if I could! I think it’s the perfect way to finish off an outfit, and a unique headpiece is always a great talking point for any conversation.

For headpieces, I look no further than Richard Nylon, Paula Kyle Walden and Danica Erard. From lace bunny ears, to toy soldiers and old records, these three milliners bring a great creative flair to an age old tradition.

I’m currently obsessing over Suzy O’Rourke’s Gaze Mask, recently worn by Jessica Gomes at the Caulfield Cup. This delicate lace creation ticks all the boxes for me and has jumped straight to the top of my Headpiece Wish List.

Check out Paula Kyle Walden’s Delicacy headpiece if you are looking to stand out trackside.

Or for something a little quirky, try Maison Michel’s Knitted Rabbit Bear Ears from Opening Ceremony.

I love Mimco’s Harlequin Chain Headpiece (as seen in Couturing’s Spring Racing Editorial) for a touch of glam.

I hope everyone heading off to Spring Racing events has a great time! Before you pack away your headpieces for next season, why not try and work them into your wardrobe and have a bit of fun with fashion. If anything, it will give you the perfect conversation starter!
