Heading to Flemington for Melbourne Cup Carnival? Make sure you make a pitstop at the ultimate trackside location, the Schweppes Flemington Fling Bar, for bespoke cocktails and music by Australia’s top DJs on Derby, Cup, Oaks and Stakes Days this cup carnival.

Dance up a storm on AAMI Victoria Derby Day to tunes by two-time ARIA Award winner Grant Smillie, who holds the record for the most time spent in the Australian club chart top 10, with his track Flaunt It. Fresh from a DJ tour of the West Coast of the USA where he opened for Tony Junior and Breathe Carolina, Didier Cohen (Australia’s Next Top Model) will play a special guest set on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 4 November.

MINX, the DJ who spun at the 2013 Grammy Awards after-party in Los Angeles and the Brit Awards after-party in London, playing tunes to Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Tinie Tempah, will perform on Crown Oaks Day.  Yo! MAFIA will perform on Emirates Stakes Day. MAFIA has supported big names in music including Stevie Wonder, Iggy Azalea, De La Soul, Ice Cube, Salt’n’Pepa, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg and Vanilla Ice.

Located in general admission on Level 1 of the Hill Stand the Schweppes Flemington Fling Bar – one of the carnival’s best-kept secrets – is open to all race-goers.

The Schweppes Flemington Fling was unveiled as the official cocktail of the carnival in 2010.  It has since proved to be a hit with race-goers with close to 12,000 Flemington Fling cocktails served last year. A refreshing mix of Smirnoff Vodka, mint and lime built over ice and topped up with Schweppes Agrum Blood Orange, it is served to order in the Fling Bar.

Other cocktails on the Flemington Fling Bar menu include the G&T&G – the classic with gin and Schweppes Tonic Water, with a zesty dash of grapefruit bitters. And for the gents, try Bring Back The Mac – an unusual but delicious combination of Johnnie Walker Red Label, ginger infused wine, topped with Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale.

So enjoy a Birdcage-like experience within general admission at the Schweppes Flemington Fling Bar this Melbourne Cup Carnival.
