Sambag’s AW14 collection packs a sartorial punch, featuring easy elegant staples the brand is fast becoming known for. Designer Sam Wagner has imbued each piece with a sense of effortless luxury, while maintaining a modern clean cut execution.

Designer Sam Wagner says, “The autumn winter 2014 collection is all about layering beautiful high quality fabrics and textures. The collection is a mix of directional leather that can be work back with soft cashmere essentials. Classic ballets are amplified with exotic textures, and sophisticated new shapes add ladylike refinement. The combination resulting in a luxe day look and dressier separates to take you to evening. “

Encouraged from the success of a capsule collection of leather for AW13, Wagner presents a complete capsule of leather pieces for the new season. Panelled tees, leggings, streamlined dresses, pencil skirts, biker jackets and contrast panelling on wool coats make up the range. The clean lined silhouettes and colour palette of grey, chocolate, navy and black will ensure these basics are in high rotation for this season and beyond.

A play on texture is integral to the look; buttery leathers are contrasted with net-like knits, basket weave sweaters and printed crews. Felted car coats with open lapels are teamed with skinny indigo denim. Lightweight silk blouses drape elegantly towards the neck or are printed and wrap the body. Tailored wool trousers are skinny to the ankle making the perfect partner to patent pull on ankle boots or animal print pony hair brogues.

Accessories complete the look with navy and gold patent block pumps or a Jaffa hued overnighter. Teal, duck egg blue and candied orange ballets amp up skinny khaki denim or a navy shirt dress. Cashmere scarves do double duty paired with an ankle boot for day or with a chic ballet for the ultimate travel essential. Oversized envelope clutches in emerald, creamy yellow and fawn add texture in pony hair.

Sambag is renowned for a certain easy elegance that is founded on its fine fabrications and elevating the every day. It is a no nonsense approach to dressing with a touch of whimsy that never loses sight of what women want to wear.
