Congratulations on being named the new Ambassador for Kailis Australian Pearls in Asia! What does it mean to you to be involved with such an iconic brand?

Thank you! I am thrilled to be the new ambassador to the Kailis brand. Being a proud Aussie with Chinese heritage, I thought it was a perfect fit when Kailis approached me to represent the brand as an ambassador.

Pearls are such a classic gem. How do you work them into your wardrobe in a modern way?

The Kailis pearls are of exquisite quality and their jewellery pieces are designed beautifully. There are both modern and classic pieces so there’s something for every occasion and mood.  I tend to go for a clean and classic look and style when I dress so it’s very easy to find the right pieces from the Kailis range to match the outfit.

When I want to keep things simple, I’d wear the Serendipity Trio Ring and a pair of pearl drop earrings. Or if I am out for an event or red carpet, the Adored Ring with either a Vibrance Collar Necklace or the Motion Earrings Glow would take the outfit to a whole other level.

Why do you think every woman should own at least one beautiful pearl piece?

I think it’s important to have a piece of jewellery that speaks for itself. Something as classic and timeless as a pearl radiates and speaks of natural beauty and confidence.

We love that each piece of Kailis jewellery contains a ‘hidden’ black diamond, which is Kailis’ unique style signature. What is your unique style signature?

My style has evolved over the years and now because I travel so much, I like classic pieces of clothing that can be mixed and matched to create amazing outfits. I accentuate with a statement bag, beautiful jewellery and watch. I like to be understated. It’s more timeless.

For daytime, I like bags with a bit of hardware and in winter I like to wear boots. That’s when I express the edgy, tomboy side of me. When it’s a red carpet event, I tend to go for a feminine look with sexy heels, a body hugging dress and stand out jewels.

The Kailis brand is tailored towards women of achievement. Who are the women that inspire you?

I find inspiration everyday from women around the world. Women who love and are passionate about what they are doing, no matter what industry they are in, what stage in life they are at, who are constantly pushing and challenging themselves with goals and achieving them.

I find that women now have immense social pressure to have it all and do it all. I think it’s important to celebrate women and our complexities, our abilities to choose whether we want to be a career woman or a super mum or be ok with juggling both. It’s not meant to easy and we should all encourage each other and find inspiration in our courage, everyday, to strive for our own personal best.

Who’s been the biggest influence in your life and what have they taught you?

My Mum has been a huge influence in my life and over the years, she has taught and showed me that patience, hard work and perseverance will be the building blocks of a successful life. Passion and love for life and what your work is very important and will reflect upon the happiness you feel inside your soul. Have integrity, be proud of your own heritage and to always love and support your family. And never forget to laugh and dance! (My parents met when they were ballroom dancing in University and still rip up the dance floor like legends!) Life is meant to be fun!

You’ve been busy working on some great feature films and TV shows the past few years. What do you like to do when you have some time off?

When I have time off, I love catching up with friends at the beach or over a good meal at each other’s houses. I have quite a healthy appetite for food so you’ll more likely find me happily chowing down rather than be on any type of ‘diet’. Which is lucky that I’m an active person! I always take time out to do yoga, jog and swim. I love Sydney beaches in the summer and miss it terribly when I’m away.

I also love to spend time with family when I’m back in Sydney as I’ve been away for many years and still travel quite a bit. Mum is an amazing in the kitchen so lately I’ve been learning her recipes whenever I’m home.

Your career is going from strength to strength. What exciting things do you have planned for 2015?

2015 has indeed been great so far and I’m very excited for what is coming up! My most recent movie INFINI has just come out, a sci-fi thriller that I’m very proud to be part of. I star along side Daniel MacPherson, Luke Hemsworth, Bren Foster, Luke Ford and it’s been getting great reviews. There’s now a TV show in the works and talk of a sequel too, which we’re all looking forward to.

I am the newly appointed ambassador for Kailis, so there will be publicity and events for that in the coming months. I’m very happy to be representing the brand to the Asian markets and look forward to sharing more beautiful Kailis moments.

Other really exciting projects are in the works but I can’t reveal too much just yet so will have to keep you guys posted!
