Couturing takes you backstage at the 3rd annual AACTA Awards where ELEVEN Australia Creative Director and celebrity hairdresser Joey Scandizzo and styling team created fashion-forward beauty looks. Here are some of our favourite looks from the night.

Gracie Otto

Deciding to leave the falsies behind, Gracie Otto graced the red carpet at the 2014 AACTA Awards with a slicked back do. Opting for a sharp centre part pulling tightly back into a low bun, this look was nothing short of amazing! A bold scarlet lip and a thin cat-eye liner boosted the dramatic look with bronzer placed in all the right places.

Courtney Eaton

Undoubtedly the most daring beauty look from the night, Courtney Eaton’s metallic purple lip shade left us wanting more! With a pop of colour on the lips, it was clear that not much else was needed. A blend of neutrals on the eyes and the winged out black eyeliner kept it simple, finishing the look with a soft blush on the cheeks.

A messy bun pulled back kept the look young and playful. Celebrity hairstylist Joey Scandizzo said that to achieve the look, you can follow these easy steps at home:

Step 1 – Prepare hair with ELEVEN Australia Miracle Hair Treatment throughout the mid-length of the hair

Step 2 – Load the hair up with ELEVEN Australia Sea Salt Texture Spray and blast in with a hair dryer

Step 3 – Using a hot tong, tong the hair all over to give it a loose wave finish

Step 4 – Backcomb the hair at the roots using a wide toothed comb to give plenty of volume

Step 5 – Pull the hair back from the face loosely, bringing it together in a sweeping bun and secure with pins

Step 6 – Finish with ELEVEN Australia Give Me Hold Flexible Hairspray

Caren Pistorius

The beautiful and talented Caren Pistorius dazzled on the red carpet, proving that less is definitely more. Stepping out with sharp brows, rosy cheeks and a coral lip colour, this beauty let her hair do the talking. Styled by ELEVEN Australia hair enthusiast Hermiz Daniel, the hair reflected a knot from the back capturing waves of curls strategically pinned to add volume. To achieve the look, Hermiz says to following steps:

Step 1 – Dampen hair with ELEVEN Australia I Want Body Volume Foam to create body at the roots

Step 2 – Spray ELEVEN Australia Sea Salt Texture Spray through mid-lengths, lightly dry and then scrunch to create a natural wave

Step 3 – Section the hair in three parts, leaving the left and right sides out. Pull the middle part back and divide into two ponytails, securing one above the other

Step 4 – Tie the two ponytails into a knot and secure the remainder of the ponytails with bobby pins. Tip: to help secure, and create an edgy look, use the stitching technique

Step 5 – Using hot tongs, create soft curls with the remaining hair from the left and right sides, then pulling back and loosely securing towards the knot

Step 6 – Finish with ELEVEN Australia Give Me Hold Flexible Hairspray
