Starting with $1,100 in the bank in 1990, Steve Madden decided to follow his intuition and create a fashion forward footwear company, which would give consumers access to the latest trends and affordable prices.

Fast forward 20 years, and Steve Madden stores are found all over the world with the brand expanding into other accessories including handbags, belts, bedding, sunwear, cold weather, outerwear and hosiery.

Last week, Steve Madden held a launch party for their newly revamped Bourke Street store in Melbourne.  The urban interior with mirrored walls, bright neon light lips, wild animal print shelves and New York imagery fit the trendy brand perfectly.

Guests were treated to live music by DJ Ruby Rose mini burgers, champagne and Steve Madden cupcakes and lollipops while they browsed the three level shop, which displayed the new Autumn Winter collection as well as a special capsule collection by popular American designer Betsey Johnson.

The new collection has on-trend ankle boots, bright jewel tones, wild animal prints and sequin covered heels. For the men, loafers and boat style shoes are the treads to look for this season.

So if you are looking for the perfect shoe to keep you in style, make sure you pay a visit to your local Steve Madden store.

Congratulations to the Steve Madden team on 20 years of success and thanks for hosting a wonderful evening!
