Speak to many new mothers and they will have heard of the French brand, Mustela. The brand, one of the European leaders in baby skincare, has recently launched its Australian subsidiary, its eleventh in the world, with a beautiful event at Melbourne’s The Olsen Hotel.

The President of Laboritoires Expanscience, makers of Mustela, flew out to Australia to launch the subsidiary, which was hosted by Lavinia Nixon. The family owned company has been innovating and manufacturing skincare since 1950 and the Mustela brand has been a popular brand of skincare for babies and new mothers around the world.

Expanscience President John-Paul Berthome, spoke about the focus on natural active ingredients in the range of products and the emotion his family has had in the development of the products. “We develop and manufacture the products within the philosophy of our company, and its important that our consumers know about our philosophy and approach to developing skincare for such delicate skin.” The brand does continual research on the the formulation of Mustela products and the new range is focused on key areas of expertise – naturalness of the formulations, life sciences through clinical based research, eco technology and cellular modelling. The research has brought about a new ear in formulation, as the formula is pleasant to touch, contains no parabens and has a level of efficacy on skin, bringing what John-Paul calls, “harmony between skin biology and the active ingredient biology”.
