Hart, renowned as a ‘natural beauty’ herself, was driven to create LUMA from her own frequent experiences with cosmetics as a model. Familiar with many products from a variety of brands used on her for photo shoots and fashion runways, Hart quickly worked out what worked for her, what didn’t and also acquired a few tricks along the way. After realising this, as well as her passion for the art of makeup, LUMA Cosmetics was born.
The line includes all your basic makeup as well as a few essential brushes. Primers, liquid eyeliners and high pigments won’t be found here! Instead think soft, creamy eyeshadows, shimmering bronzers, sheer lipsticks and dewy foundations.
Packaging is pink and pretty plastic for the most part. The products look sleek keeping in line with the bare, minimalistic feel of the line.
For a LUMA look, start with Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 that allows skin to breathe with a lightweight coverage. Skin will feel hydrated with the addition of Pomegranate and Rosehip oil as well as Vitamins E and A and Omega 6 Oils to protect from free radicals and improve elasticity. For extra radiance, mix in the Illuminating Highlighter for an all over natural glow.
Achieve a natural sun-kissed look with LUMA’s non-comedogenic Bronzing Powder designed to let pores breathe. Available in a shimmering shade of Natural or the rich golden Sun Kiss, this is a true stand-out product from the line! For a little extra colour, brush LUMA’s Powder Blush into the apples of the cheeks in Soft Peach, a light pinky-peach tone with a subtle gold shimmer.
Accentuate your eyes with the Daring Curves Mascara. A good, all rounder mascara, your lashes will be naturally lengthened and thickened in the water resistant formula. To finish your LUMA look, paint your lips in the ultra hydrating Sheer Lipstick in Nude Shimmer or Natural Pink for a little more warmth.
