Sexy, mysterious, magical. These are the words that spring to mind when you see the beauty look at L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Runway 02, presented by InStyle.

L'Oreal Paris Runway Two Model Shot

Smouldering with a strong, smokey eye, this beauty look is incredibly striking. L’Oreal Paris Makeup Director, Rae Morris, chose to keep skin looking natural, fresh and dewy with L’Oreal’s newly expanded Nude Magique BB range. The Nude Magique BB Cream was used as a base and topped with the Nude Magique BB Powder for extra even coverage. For some added warmth on the models’ faces, Glam Bronze  La Terra was applied to the cheekbones.

The star of the face was the eyes. Makeup was used to dress the eye in the most flattering way and make them captivating and intriguing. The brows were groomed and filled in with Colour Riche Le Sourcil in deep brown. Two different eyeliner colours rimmed the outer eye in Le Smoky (#207 Stormy Sea) and Le Duo (Ebony Black).

The striking eyes complemented some of the evening’s evening dresses such as the striking red silk dress from Bianca Spender, to the vibrant colourful patterns from Camilla.

Opting for a modern, re-vamped take on the smoky eye, a variety of eyeshadow colours were employed. Striking, bold colours, from L’Oreal Disco Smoking and Emerald Conquest palettes, were unexpected choices that proved to blend together perfectly.

Shimmering gold, blues and emerald greens were applied to the inner corner of the eye. The rest of the upper eyelid was coloured with a dark smoky purple, whilst a magenta shade lined the lower lash line. To complete the look, a sweep of black mascara in Lash Architect 4D was applied. The result was a stunning futuristic smoky eye that made it difficult to take your own eyes off from!

The creative combinations of eyeshadow colours worked well with the multi coloured patterned dress shown by Camilla.  Rather than clashing with the outfit, the eyeshadows picked up on the more subtle purples, blues and yellows in the dress.

To maintain the focus on the eye, the lips were downplayed and natural looking. They were coated in a pretty subtle rose pink in #378 Velvet Rose.

To complement the modern aesthetic of the runway fashion, the hair look needed to be sleek and sexy. L’Oreal Professional Hair Director Brad Ngata said that “This look is about ‘New Minimalism’ in the front and retro waves in the back – I am calling it ‘Slick Siren’.   The quirk to this look is the asymmetrical side parting,”
