In keeping with Melbourne Cup tradition, colour reigned supreme trackside yesterday.

Well heeled Birdcage patrons opted for classic racewear silhouettes in modern textures and fresh colour palettes. Hemlines skimmed over the knee and midriffs were firmly tucked away. Headwear reached new heights, with the bright and beautiful mingling with the embellished and dainty.

Star stylist Lana Wilkinson stole the show in elegant sage green, pairing a timeless cut with an awe inspiring colour and structured, architectural headwear by Aniss. Real Housewife of Melbourne Chyka Keebaugh took on a “brighter is better” mentality in a stunning block coloured frock and matching fascinator. All eyes were on model Ashley Hart in the Swisse marquee, epitomising the classic race wear look of yesteryear in a mauve Mathieu Salem ensemble teamed with Kerrie Stanley millinery.
