This May, The Espy’s fast-paced and flavour filled Cantonese restaurant, Mya Tiger, welcomes a limited-edition Yum Cha menu, for a limited time only! Here for a good time and not a long time, the Yum Cha experience will only be available in the Mya Tiger Green
Room from 11am on Sundays, with some of The Espy’s hottest DJs spinning tunes for the duration.

The $58pp menu is inclusive of a selection of six dishes, and three plates to start, all designed to be shared and ordered using an old-school ‘tick the box’ method. To start, enjoy Chinese pickles, a cold spinach and bean curd salad, and cucumber and black fungus salad, the perfect fresh introduction before the fun begins.

With your choice of six classic Yum Cha dishes, each with a modern Mya Tiger twist, all your dim sum dreams will come to life, with the only difficulty destinated to be which box is worthy of your tick. Will it be spicy pork chili wontons, ginger chicken dumplings or the epic BBQ pork buns? Scallop siu mai or truffle pork siu mai? Perhaps some sesame prawn toast or even spring onion pancakes? The decision will be hard, but the reward well worth it.

For those that are particularly hungry, a host of delicious add-ons are also available, including Asian greens ($16), spanner crab fried rice ($23), duck pancakes ($18 pp), kung pao chicken ($32) and black pepper wagyu beef ($38).

To quench your thirst, traditional tea will be served in honour of the ancient tradition, but in a nod to today, The Espy’s bar team has also curated an exclusive menu of speciality alcoholic teapots making for the perfect accompaniment to any feast. Designed to share, they each serve four and are available for $40 a pop. The line- up includes:

  • Bloody Good Tea-Time – made with Four Pillars Shiraz Gin, house shiraz, lime, agave, pomegranate iced tea, Thai basil, ginger, and grapes
  • Zingi Teapot – made with black cardamon infused Starward Two-Fold Whisky, with Montenegro Amaro, ginger lemon myrtle syrup and lemon juice
  •  Pear Dragon Teapot – made with Havana Especial, Disaronna, pear shrub, spiced oolong syrup, apple juice and lime juice

Whether it be a date for two, or a recovery for twelve, Mya Tiger’s limited edition Yum Cha menu will be sure to spice up your Sunday. Delicious dishes, Cantonese classics and curated cocktails await, all overlooking the iconic Saint Kilda foreshore. What more could you want?
