The Luminaire Wedding Venue offers brides a premiere place to have their wedding with loads of amenities. Marking its one year anniversary, the shack is quickly become a much-loved local hangout, and now, they’re opening their doors to couples looking for a wedding reception that’s a little more casual and a lot more Sorrento. Appealing to couples who are looking for a beach wedding with a difference, the well-priced wedding packages combine amazing food and a curation of the best local wine, all within arms reach of the stunning beachfront.

Couples can invite up to 100 guests for a sit-down affair or 250 for a cocktail-style wedding. A smaller room off the side caters for a more intimate reception and can comfortably seat up to 50 guests. As for the food, the Baja-style cuisine, the Californian take on Mexican, has quickly gained a reputation for serving some of the best burgers, tacos and seafood in town.

Bare feet. Board shorts. A pint of prawns. A mojito on arrival… it doesn’t quite sound like your traditional wedding experience, but then again Morgan’s Beach Shack is not your average venue.

Morgan’s Beach Shack pays homage to its enviable seaside setting, and was designed by award-winning Six Degrees Architects, a firm whose iconic style has defined the face of some of Melbourne’s most renowned venues. The interiors are layered with recycled materials: lobster pots are turned into lampshades, lifebuoys are suspended from old timber beams, and a pair of rowing oars sits against sandstone bricks.

Led by seasoned hospitality veterans, Julian Gerner and Paul Olynyk, who also co-own the Royal Saxon in Richmond, the venue continues to be a hotspot for its fresh food, great atmosphere, live music and endless games of ping pong.

Julian says, “Morgan’s Beach Shack aims to create a casual dining experience with all day sun, all day fun, all night long. We want to continue this philosophy with weddings, catering to couples who are looking for a more casual event without the formality or pretense.”

Morgan’s Beachshack also partners with the Peninsula Kombi Bus company which is the coastline’s coolest transport service who offer tailored packages for wedding & special events. So if you’re planning on a Sorrento wedding, you’ll find everything you’re after at Morgan’s Beach Shack.
