Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse is shaking up the way Victorian’s eat cake by bundling two iconic desserts to create the ultimate on-the-go treat: the Cake Shake. Available in three iconic flavour profiles – Chocolate Ganache, Cherries on the Run and Red Velvet –
the shakes are a salute to the brand’s top selling cakes, formulated to eliminate the temptation to eat cake while driving.
Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse CEO Steve Plarre said the concept was developed based on the latest global trends in the category.
“These mouth-watering dessert delights are the ultimate and most convenient way to indulge in a slice of cake while on the go,” Steve said. “We always like to innovate around range and building out a fresh new cold drinks’ menu was a huge source of excitement for our team. They scanned the global ‘shake’ landscape and discovered Cake Shakes were gaining momentum in Chicago.
The launch coincides with the opening of Fergusson Plarre’s first drive-thru bakery which is located in the heart of South Morang where the shakes will be exclusively available. “We think the Fergusson Plarre Backhouse drive thru will really change the game of on-the-go
convenience and will be little moments of joy for all to experience,” Steve said. “Commuters can now enjoy one of our famous pies, a fresh vanilla slice and barista made coffee without leaving their car. We believe there’s a big opportunity to provide a genuine alternative to the fried chicken and burger-heavy options that adorn most major roads and we’re here to service that. There is a real focus on speed and service at the drive thru window as well as a wide selection of traditional and new products.”
To celebrate the opening, every visitor who visits the drive thru between 26 April and 26 May will receive a free donut with each purchase. Double the dessert, double the fun.
