Midsumma: Same Same Beloved

This is the opening week of Melbourne’s annual Queer celebration, Midsumma Festival, running until February 3rd. Same Same Beloved is a photography exhibition by photographer Deborah Dorman, celebrating the marriage and unity of same sex couples.

One thing I find extremely useful is keeping a notebook or notepad close by, especially on the bedside table. It’s amazing what you can think of late at night or spontaneously on the train. David Lynch’s films are complex puzzles of reoccurring motifs and sudden twists. Some of his films include Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks (TV series, lots of ladies with shoulder pads), Eraserhead and Lost Highway. Sidney Nolan: The Early Experiments

The Heide Museum of Modern art features one of Australia’s most renowned artists, Sidney Nolan, famous for his Ned Kelly portraits. This exhibition features his earlier works influenced by European artists.
