It’s Spring!  The blossoms are blooming and the sun is out. So it’s a great time at the start of the new season to take stock of your beauty regime and get yourself prepared to embark on the new season. Your beauty needs and requirements differ as the season change so we’ve rounded up the top tips and products you need to head into Spring!

Tip #1 – Keep your face hydrated

Winter is tough on your skin. Between the winds and the heating,  your skin may be feeling a bit dry and dehydrated. The focus is on rehydrating your skin so pick a moisturiser or serum that can give your skin that boost it needs.

My favourites at the moment:

ASPECT SMC

I love this super rich moisturiser  that helps to provide relief to dry and dehydrated skin and also targets ageing concerns as well.  Aspect SMC contains Hyaluronic Acid which is one of the best ingredients to combat dehydration. It also contains nutrients and vitamins to protect and strengthen skin including Sodium PCA, Peptides, Antioxidant Green Tea, stable and oil-soluble Vitamin C, Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil, and Canadian Willowherb. All combined together to nourish and hydrate skin for a smoother and plumper feel and look. I’ve been using it at night and it leaving it to absorb over night leaving my skin feeling great when I wake up!

TATCHA THE WATER CREAM

Tatcha The Water Cream is a magical cream provides an instant hit of hydration to the face. This lightweight gel feels like a splash of water when you apply to your face but it instantly provides a burst of hydration to your face with its special formulation of Japanese botanicals.  Japanese wild rose helps to tighten pores for smoother textured skin and Japanese leopard lily helps to promote clarity and clear complexion.  Once applied your face will feel hydrated, supple and alive!

INNISFREE GREEN TEA SEED SERUM

Adding a serum to your beauty routine can help boost your skin’s health, hydration, look and feel. Depending on what your skin concerns are, it’s well worth adding a serum to give your skin that added boost.

Since this cult Korean brand landed in Australia, I’ve been obsessed with its product range. After all K-Beauty does produce results! The Innisfree Green Tea serum uses organic green tea and green tea seeds from Jeju island where many of the organic ingredients Innisfree use in their products. The green tea deeply hydrates your skin whilst the oil from the green tea sees helps to form a moisture barrier to keep your skin maintain the moisture. I use this for a big moisture hit before applying my moisturiser, day and night.

Tip #2 Don’t forget your body

The start of Spring is a great time to make sure you get rid of all the dry skin that has accumulated on your body during Winter! To get rid of the scaly skin, exfoliate regularly (at least once a week) and make sure you moisturise your body after.

GROWN ALCHEMIST PURIFYING BODY EXFOLIANT

This is one of my favourite body exfoliants. It works a treat  and leaves your skin feeling smooth and clean. Formulated with a nutrient and antioxidant-rich blend of botanical and pearl bioactive ingredients, peppermint and ylang ylang, the exfoliant is gentle and effective to remove dead skin cells.

KIEHL’S CREME DE CORPS

There’s a reason this body lotion is a cult product, it’s because it works. This rich, hydrating body lotion leaves skin feeling super soft and smooth and the best thing is that it absorbs really well so there is no greasy feeling on the skin. Formulated with cocoa butter, sesame seed oil and beta carotene, this the perfect body moisturiser to rehydrate your skin after Winter!

Tip #4 Don’t forget the sunscreen

With more sunshine as we head into Summer, we should continue or add the use of a broad spectrum sunscreen to your routine! As part of my routine, I add a sheer layer of moisturising sunscreen after my moisturiser to ensure that my face is protected from UV rays.

COSMEDIX HYDRATE +

This moisturizing sunscreen provides broad spectrum protection from sun exposure and contains antioxidants to fight aging and hydrate skin. It also helps to improve elasticity and loss of radiance, meaning it keeps you both protected from the sun and protects your skin from dehydration. Hydrate + is light and effective and great to add to your daily routine.
