With the number of online stores available to shoppers, it’s hard to navigate through to find the best e-buys. I was recently introduced to silkstonewood, the brainchild of Meredith East-Powell. Silkstonewood is your one-stop online shop for a unique range of jewellery and homewares with a focus on ethically produced goods.

Meredith has carefully selected products from all around the world, each with their own special story. Silkstonewood is committed to minimising damage to the environment while also providing the most possible benefit to people and communities who actually produce the goods. It’s this point of difference that makes silkstonewood stand out from its competitors.

Here are some of my favourite pieces from silkstonewood, picked not only for their beauty, but for the fact they are versatile and can be dressed up or down.

A collaboration between artist Orly Genger and designer Jaclyn Mayer, this label fuses art and design to create wearable statement pieces which are delicate enough to be layered with existing jewellery, or bold enough to stand alone and statement pieces.

My favourite piece from this range is the Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer Morgaine Silver Necklace which goes perfectly with a plain t-shirt or a beautiful floral dress.

Handcrafted in Paris by designer Tania Petit, Noot Bijoux has a modern feminine aesthetic. While pieces initially appear simple and clean, delving deeper into each design, the wearer discovers the complexity skilfully woven into each piece, which gives Noot Bijoux the uniqueness it has become known for.

My favourite piece from the range is the Noot Bijoux La Ruche Asymmetrical Silver Ring which is great for mixing and matching with other silver rings, or wearing on its own.

A Maripossa design is easy to spot as the talented artisans who have loving crafted each piece, have somehow made metal, typically hard and rigid in form, look and move fluidly like fabric. Raw earth crystals, sterling silver and fine chains are fused together and given a completely new form, one that allows the owner to wear metal in ways never before explored.

One of my favourite pieces from the Maripossa range is the Amoeba Silver Metal Woven Bracelet. It’s the perfect piece for dressing up with a little black dress or dressing down with ripped jeans and a cotton t-shirt.

So if you’re on the hunt for the perfect accessory, make sure you check out silkstonewood. The shop offers a great range of fine and statement pieces to suit any budget.
