For many women, the thought of invasive facial treatment to help retain their looks may be a bit daunting. But don’t despair, not all facial treatments need a scalpel! With the significant technological advances there are many solutions that can help meet a variety of your different skin needs. Ultraformer, is new non-surgical treatment to tighten and lift skin. We caught up with Mignonne Faraj (Dermal Specialist) from The Harley Clinic to talk more about the treatment.

I’ve recently undergone an Ultraformer session and it’s great to do an non-invasive treatment. Tell us a bit about Ultraformer and what are the benefits of using Ultraformer?

As our bodies age, we lose vital support structures like collagen and elastin, which are responsible for firmness of skin. Ultraformer is non-surgical treatment used to tighten and lift the skin. It aims to re-establish the skin’s vital support structures and improve elasticity, along with tone and texture. This advanced technological treatment is not skin tone dependent, meaning any skin colour
can be treated. There’s no downtime and instantly noticeable results, which means you can come in on a work break and be back at the office within the hour!

For those that may be a bit hesitant to try something like this, what can you share that would help alleviate those hesitations?

Ultraformer is a non-invasive treatment that uses advanced technology to encourage the body’s own natural healing abilities with minimal discomfort and is a great alternative for those tentative to go down the path of injectables. Ultraformer encourages the body’s own natural healing abilities to stimulate collagen growth and is the most advanced, non-invasive treatment currently available.

Tell us a bit about the different levels of treatment you can have with Ultraformer?

During Ultraformer treatment, low amounts of Micro-Focused Ultrasound energy are delivered into precise skin depths, without damaging the surface of the skin. Different levels of ultrasound energy target different layers of the skin, between the muscle
layer to the epidermis. A 4.5mm Ultraformer cartridge is used on the face to target SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) which creates a shrinking and tightening effect. While a 3mm helps with slimming and contouring and a 1.5mm cartridge is great for stimulating the upper dermis to improve skin tone, texture and pore size.

On average, how long does it take for it to work?

Results can be seen immediately and continue to work over a period of 90 days. The overall effect often lasts more than one year. However it’s recommended patients receive a ‘top-up’ one to two years after their initial treatment to effectively continue delay of the ageing process.

What are the most popular areas that people use Ultraformer for?

The jaw, jowls, full neck and general fine lines and wrinkles on the face are the most popular treatment areas.

The Ultraformer treatment can also be used on the body, such as back of thigh, above the knee, arm skin and abdominal area are also treatable.
