The Summer of freedom is fast approaching, there is a feeling of celebration in the air and with it come the return of Australia’s favorite outdoor cinema. Moonlight Cinema is back, and co-dependent COVID pups needn’t stay at home.

The original cinema under the stars will return to Melbourne and run into April 2022.  Movie goers can expect a line-up of new releases including Dear Evan Hansen, based on the Tony-Award winning musical, 60’s horror film, Last Night in Soho starring Golden Globe Award winning actress, Anya Taylor-Joy, Netflix’s action comedy Red Notice starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and
Gal Gadot, Marvel Studio’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage as well as family hits Clifford the Big Red Dog and Disney’s Encanto.

Also making the program are Hollywood blockbusters that may have been missed in lock-down such as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with Simu Liu and Awkwafina, Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson, Cruella with Emma Stone and Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds. As Christmas approaches, a string of festive favourites will show including Love Actually, The Holiday, Home Alone, The Grinch That Stole Christmas and Die Hard. Not to be missed for the retro-film fans, McDonalds Sing Together sessions will also be hosted where guests can unabashedly sing along to classic hits like ‘The Time of my Life’ in Dirty Dancing.

Thanks to Green Partner, Garnier, Moonlight Cinema will be greener than ever this season, with all 470 screenings nationwide powered by 100% renewable energy from solar panels. The renewable energy will be provided from Atlas Renewables’ Solar Pivotel Satellite project in Dubbo, NSW, which will ensure minimal greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels.

This summer, there are a range of exclusive packages and experiences on offer. Make sure you check out the site to see whether you can make your Moonlight experience a bit more special. New this season, Moonlight will launch Parlour Lane Fiesta, a Mexican-inspired food truck. Guests can grab their nachos and churros and recline happy with a Fat Bastard wine or chilled Byron Bay Larger. As always guests can also prepare their own picnics, bring along refreshments and enjoy one of Australia’s quintessential summer experiences^ (Moonlight is BYO in all locations apart from Brisbane).

Renowned as a beloved dog-friendly night out, this season you can even book the furriest member of your family a plush dog bean bed thanks to Moonlight’s dog partner, K9 Natural.

Moonlight Cinema guests will also be able to learn more about Garnier’s ‘Green Beauty’ commitments at the Garnier Garden Cart, which will be onsite from November 2021 at film screenings across the country, with take-home samples of Garnier’s most popular products available.

Moonlight will implement COVID-safe initiatives in line with local health guidelines and recommendations, including social-distancing, capacity limits and increased hygiene measures. Taking place in sprawling parklands and under a ceiling of stars, guests can return to Moonlight with peace of mind ready to enjoy an evening outdoors with their loved ones.
