Designers Roopa Pemmaraju and Sudhir Swain showcased their latest ethically produced luxury resort-wear collection inspired by Aboriginal artwork. Pemmaraju worked with artists from the Coee Art Gallery, Desert Designs and Warlukurlangu Arists Aboriginal Corporation to create stunning designs which formed the basis for her collection.

Working with the Bangalore based design director for the label, Sudhir Swain, and stylist Kelvin Harries to incorporate her signature exquisite fabric, soft cotton, crepe, flowing chiffon and luxurious silk, finished with elaborate beadwork, jewels and handcrafted embellishments modeled on Australia’s indigenous arts and landscapes.

The collection was a beautiful display of the talent of Australia’s Aboriginal artists and Roopa Pemmaraju’s vision. With 20% of profits from each garment in the collection given back to the Aboriginal communities, it’s a fantastic way to support Roopa Pemmaraju and talented Aboriginal artists.
