Lavazza Australia launched Prontissimo! – the company’s first premium Italian style instant coffee range – in major Australian supermarket retailers earlier this month with a beautiful breakfast at The Point in Melbourne.

The 100% Arabica blend – available in Classico (smooth, well-balanced, with notes of caramel) and Intenso (strong and full-bodied) – is enriched with 10 per cent micro-ground granules of roasted coffee per serve.

Nigel Meakins, Lavazza Australia General Manager, says Prontissimo! is a great addition to our fast- paced, coffee loving society.

“The launch of Prontissimo! is significant for Australia as we can now deliver 120 years of Lavazza innovation and quality, in just two minutes. Whether it’s the first coffee of the day, or the 3pm pick me up, Prontissimo! will appeal to coffee lovers who appreciate the practicality of instant coffee, without compromising on quality and flavour,” Meakins said.

Prontissimo! is produced in four specific phases:

  • High-quality Arabica coffee beans are roasted until they reach the ideal aromatic profile. The beans are then ground and infused with hot water to prepare a liquid coffee extract;
  • Using pioneering and innovative technology involving controlled heat application, the coffee is gently concentrated, whilst preserving its aroma;
  • 10 per cent roasted and micro-ground Arabica coffee is added to the liquid coffee to enhance the aroma;
  • The water in the ground coffee-enriched extract is then evaporated slowly using freeze-drying technology, which transforms the liquid coffee into soluble coffee flakes
