Letter from the Editor
It’s easy to have dreams, ambitions and goals. What is difficult is having the courage and drive to chase them. After starting out working in the tax industry, I thought I was destined to spend my working life sitting in an office doing a job I wasn’t passionate about. After spending years feeling sorry for myself, I decided to get off my ass and do something about it, and so Couturing was born.
One of the reasons why my business partner Thom and I started Couturing was to share stories of people doing amazing things. People who have taken a chance in life and followed their dreams. When you see someone doing well, it’s easy to put it down to luck. Right place, right time, or connections who have hooked them up. But often, people’s successes are not due to luck. They are successful because of hard work, long nights and a lot of sacrifices.
We’ve worked hard to get Couturing to where it is today. There is the misconception that the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industry is glamourous, but I can tell you right now, it’s certainly not. The amount of blood, sweat and tears we’ve seen people put into achieve their dreams is truly amazing and inspiring. We are just lucky enough to work with a great team of editors, writers and creatives to help us share their journeys with you.
This week on Couturing, we are excited to bring you the stories behind 7 inspiring individuals, all doing great things in their fields. These 7 people have not only made sacrifices to get them to where they are today, but they continue to strive to be the best they can be, and what’s more inspiring than that?
