Just in time for Spring Carnival and summer entertaining, Champagne Pommery unveils its newest Blanc de Blancs NV. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the northern terrain of the Montagne de Reims and the hills of Nogent l’Abbesse, this harmonious combination of terrains allows this Cuvée to express an astounding freshness and maturity worthy of an Apanage.

The newly released Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs has a strong Spring freshness on the nose with subtle floral notes of jasmine, as well as acacia, linden and citrus fruit. The initial taste allows the fresh apple to takeover with the balance of the final notes being the subtle flavour of yellow grapefruit.
This new release continues in the Pommery tradition of excellence, innovation and a gastronomic selection of fine Cuvées, perfect for enjoying now.

The new Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs was celebrated in Melbourne with a beautiful lunch at the National Gallery of Victoria. Madame Nathalie Vranken from Champagne Pommery was on hand to explain the latest addition to the delectable range of Champagne Pommery cuvees. “The new Blanc de Blancs is an important moment to the history of the house – it’s made from the highest quality grapes and is the work of winemakers who have worked to perfect the Chardonnay blend in this bottle” she says. “We age the bottle as long as possible to give the blend that melt in your mouth perfection. This Blanc de Blanc has spent 4 years in the cellar and the reason why we cellar it so long is that it needs the time to ensure it’s the perfect time for you to drink it” she added. The Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs is made from only Chardonnay grapes and represents 20% of the entire vineyard which means it’s the ultimate drink due to its singular grape cuvee.

Madame Vranken also talked about the the history of Champagne Pommery which for many who don’t know, was the Maison that introduced the Brut Champagne to the world in 1874. As the second largest producer of Champagne, it is dedicated to on-premise development of its cuvees and relies on only a small number of Cru (villages) in Champagne to source its highest quality grapes.

The newest addition to the Champagne Pommery range will sure to delight Australian’s as we head into the warmer months.
