To celebrate Christmas, Melbourne’s Manhattan inspired dining lounge, Dutchess, on Flinders Street is offering a four-course menu created by Group Executive Chef Justin Wise on Christmas Day. Located on the second level of The Duke Complex; Melbourne’s oldest licensed venue, guests enjoying the Christmas lunch menu at Dutchess will enjoy a range of seafood starters such as seared petuna ocean trout with pickled celery, heirloom carrots, and salmon caviar and a choice of mains such as a 250g Cape Grim porterhouse with red wine jus or baby snapper with mussels, clams, spring vegetables, and crustacean consommé. Traditional Christmas pudding with brandy anglaise and playful choc tops complete the four- course menu.

The Hotel Windsor

Christmas Day at the Hotel Windsor sees an extensive buffet banquet at its handsome Grand Ballroom that includes seafood such as vanilla-poached Tasmanian salmon; carvery of baked free-range ham and turkey; mains of spring lamb, pork belly and ocean trout, and eight different Christmassy desserts.

Or dine in the 111 Spring Street Restaurant on the likes of salad of snow crab and marron; house-cured pork belly ham; slow-cooked turkey, and the hotel’s famous plum pudding – made with dried fruits marinated in fine cognac and rum for 15 months.

The iconic Melbourne venue has commenced bookings for its annual sell-out Christmas Day feast, a three-course menu created by Head Chef Paul Tyas. It’s Christmas with all the trimmings, featuring premium cuts of beef from Gippsland Victoria, seafood and a traditional turkey option, ensuring there’s something to offer the entire family.

Diners can begin their Christmas Day celebrations with entrees including Crystal Bay prawn cocktails and Sher Wagyu beef carpaccio, before indulging on a generous main of pasture fed eye fillet with mushroom puree and sauce Bordelaise or turkey breast with potato fondant and red currants. To finish, guests may choose between a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy anglaise or pastry chef, Dan Grieff’s James’ signature gateaux, featuring crunchy hazelnuts, passionfruit cremeux and chocolate Bavarian mousse.

Starters include oysters, king prawns and thick cut leg ham from the bone with rockmelon and watermelon mosaic followed by mains of grilled local snapper, pork rib racks or sliced turkey breast. And it wouldn’t be Christmas without a selection of roast vegetables to accompany the meal and chocolate coated Christmas pudding to finish.

Dishes include Four Pillars Gin cured trout with Aleppo dressing and whipped goats cheese, 12 hour roasted lamb shoulder with green olive and pistachio, whole rotisserie chicken with sage jus, and roasted turkey breast with cranberry salsa.
