Planning a trip over the Christmas break? Then you need to start thinking about packing. To make it easy for you, we’ve rounded up all the beauty items you need to ensure your skin stays flawless all holiday long.

SKINCARE

Whether you’re travelling to a hot or cold climate you need to look after your skin. The Verso travel kit which contains a day time moisturiser, night time moisturiser and cleanser is the ultimate skincare pack. Not only does it contain Retinol 8 which means your skin stays protected against signs of ageing, but it comes in 3 simple to use use tubes, beautiful packaged in a resealable bag so you can easily keep track of your products. The fact that the packaging is totally luxe is an added bonus, making it perfect for those all important holiday flatlays.

The NARS Multi-Action Hydrating Toner is one of my new favourite skincare products. Once you’ve cleansed your skin, gently apply this toner to polish your skin. It will not only reduce the appearance of pores, but will also work hard to keep your skin looking radiant and hydrated which is particularly important if you are going into a climate which will dry your skin out. This product comes in quite a large container so you may want to transfer some of the product into a travel sized pack.

Your hands can be one of the first things to dry out when you are on holidays as you tend to wash them more when you are in a different country. Byredo Hand Creams are the perfect size for fitting in your handbag and taking on the plan to ensure your skin stays moisturised.

To keep your limbs hydrated I love Mecca Cosmetica’s Elixir Body Oil. When I’m travelling, I find my skin tends to get extra dry. To save me taking a few different body lotions, I just bring this quick absorbing body oil for maximum effectiveness. As a added bonus, it gives skin a beautiful sheen, making it ideal if you want that post-beach glow.

A facial mist is always a great idea, particularly if you are going to a hot climate as it is a great way to hydrate and re-freshen  your face. Mario Badescu does spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater which smells as good as it sounds. Your skin will also get extremely dehydrated when it’s on a plan so it’s great to have a facial mist on board to freshen up your skin during the flight. Make sure transfer your product into a travel size friendly spray bottle if it is over 100ml.

Mecca’s Lip De Luscious Cream is a handbag must have. Its richly nourishing formula will ensure your lips stay hydrated all holiday long. As an added bonus it has SPF 25 protection to keep your lips protected against damaging environmental factors.

SUN PROTECTION

No matter what the weather, it’s always important to make sure you bring sunscreen. Mecca Cosmetica’s Too Save Face Sunscreen is a great option if you want something that is lightweight, non-greasy and offers 30+ protection. It is also perfect for wearing under makeup as it has a nice, matt finish. It also comes in a 50+ option for your body if you are looking for extra protection.

PERFUME

While you can bring your existing perfume with you (make sure its in a container 100ml or smaller if you plan to take it on the plane), it’s always fun getting a new scent for your trip as when you use it afterwards, you will always be reminded of the great time you had! I love Kai’s Roll-on Perfume Oil for a tropical getaway. The unique scent of gardenia will automatically conjure up visions of a secluded beach and palm trees gently swaying in a summer breeze. For something a little different, Diptyque’s Do Son Solid Perfume not only smells delicious (think a fresh flower blooming on a hot summer’s night) but it comes in the most amazing black zamac case, making it the perfect travelling companion.

MAKEUP

When I’m on holiday, I like to wear minimal makeup as I find I’m on the move all day so don’t have much time for touch ups. A good primer is a must. My current favourite is the new Eve Lom Radiance Primer. It not only keeps my makeup looking fresh all day and night long, it protects your skin from harmful UV damage.

The Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturiser is easily one of my favourite beauty products of all time. Where as some tinted moisturisers offer a bit of colour but minimal coverage, this product strikes the perfect balance between providing a beautiful glow with just the right amount of coverage. It doesn’t look thick like a foundation or watery like a tinted moisturiser. It will give you a great glow all day and long into the night.

I love a strong brow, even on holidays! Hourglass’s Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil goes everywhere with me, and I find it particularly good for framing the face, particularly if you don’t want to wear too much eye makeup.

NARS Lip Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are best sellers for a reason. They work. Not only are the colours rich and flattering, but the formulation will ensure your lips don’t dry out. Try Mysterious Red for a bold look, or Belle De Jour for a more subtle shade.
