Having launched in March of last year, Shu Uemura Art of Hair is celebrating its first anniversary in Australia by teaming up with Akira. As the Official Hair Partner to the fashion label, Shu Uemura Art of Hair will be the exclusive hair stylists for Akira in 2014.

Akira Isogawa celebrates his 21st anniversary in the fashion industry this year, this new partnership indicative of his label’s growing strength and longevity. The two brands share Japanese roots and a similar design aesthetic that values traditional techniques and the simplicity of nature. After successful  collaboration at 2013’s  Shu Uemura Art of Hair launch in Sydney, and at The Royal Botanic Show earlier this year, it is clear that the brands make the perfect pair.

Akira Isogawa believes that the labels “share harmonious views on design and the perception of beauty. Beauty plays an important role, as it can subtly imply or infer a vision for the collection. Without needing words, a lot can be expressed by a gentle turn of hand. It can be delicate and ethereal or raw and understated.

General Manager of Shu Uemura Art of Hair Australia, Ludovic Dellazzeric, shares the same sentiments, calling it “a natural, harmonious collaboration for us and a relationship which we are tremendously proud and excited to be associated with. Beauty and fashion have always gone hand in hand. The alignment of Shu Uemura Art of Hair with its strong Japanese legacy and commitment to offering luxurious and exclusive styling and hair care solutions echoes those values of Akira Isogawa and his admired fashion label.

2014 is sure to be an exciting time for Akira and Shu Uemura Art of Hair, with many fashion and beauty projects in the works, to be unveiled as the year progresses.

Shu Uemura Art of Hair has also added a new product to their Cleansing Oil range. The Cleansing Oil Conditioner completes the luxurious journey to achieving perfectly glossy and healthy hair. The product should be used after the cult favourite Cleansing Oil Shampoo – which purifies the hair and scalp – to nourish your locks, giving a weightless and radiant finish. The conditioner’s formula is enriched with Bergamot Essential Oil, which lends moisture to the hair, and is paraben-free, making it perfect for daily use.
