Design duo Amanda Cumming and Kate Reynolds (professionally known as PAGEANT), have taking out one of the most coveted design accolades in the industry, winning the 2015 Tiffany & Co National Designer Award.

Held during the 2015 Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, the National Designer Award celebrates and recognises talented young designers who are leading in creativity and innovation, and feature presentations by some of the most exciting labels up and coming in the industry. It was strong competition, with runners up for the prize including búl and VERNER, macgraw, and Emma Mulholland.

The prize pool, valued at over $100,000, also includes an extensive business development package comprising of a look book styled by Harper’s BAZAAR Fashion Director Thelma McQuillan, a six-month mentorship program with the buying team at MATCHESFASHION.COM, and a mentoring program with Larry Kestelman, one of Australia’s leading entrepreneurs, during which he will share his valuable knowledge of creating multi-million dollar companies, to benefit young designers on their own business journey. And with previous winners of the award including Toni Maticevski,  Romance Was Born, Yeojin Bae and STRATEAS.CARLUCCI, it’s good company to be in.

Surrounded by a who’s-who crowd at the Collins Street Tiffany & Co. store,  PAGEANT were presented with a $10,000 cheque and a custom designed trophy from Tiffany & Co. They will also be flown to New York, courtesy of Virgin Australia, where they will meet with the Tiffany & Co. design team.
