Internationally renowned hair stylist, Kevin Murphy, has been announced as Hair Director of this year’s Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) that will run from 29 August to 7 September.
Celebrating his 11th year as Hair Director of MSFW, Kevin will be creating directional styles for every hair look, lighting up the runway and showcasing the latest hair trends during the week long Fashion spectacular. Supported by his team of experienced session stylists, Murphy will craft unique and fashion-forward looks to complement all Designer Runways, which will feature the likes of Michael Lo Sordo, Manning Cartell, Arthur Galan, Yeojin Bae and Gorman. Show-goers will be captivated by his creative vision and gain a first-hand insight into the upcoming hair trends for spring/summer.
“It’s such a pleasure to be back in my hometown to celebrate Australian fashion and beauty. I can’t wait to show Melbourne and its international and interstate guests what the KEVIN.MURPHY team will be showing this season to bring the designer’s vision to life,” said Murphy.
“Spring is a time when you can really be creative with hair and I will be crafting looks that really push the boundaries and celebrate the warmth and energy of the new season. I’ll be playing with cuts, textures and colour to create stand-out looks that will inspire Fashion Week-goers for the season ahead.”
This year’s event is bigger than ever, with Australian model, Ashley Hart, being named the Ambassador of the event. There will be runways, workshops, parties, exhibitions, fashion films and cultural activations across a variety of venues and laneways across Melbourne, showcasing what makes Melbourne such a unique and stylish city.
Again this year, the MSFW Hub will be up and running and will feature the KEVIN.MURPHY STYLE.BAR where visitors will be encouraged to touch, feel and use the KEVIN.MURPHY range and stylists will be available to answer their questions, consult, and provide them with the perfect products for their hair and styling needs.
