NEGRONI WEEK 1-7 JUNE, 2015

Negroni Week Kick Off Party at the Refinery Rooftop

Running from 1st through to 7th June, 2015, Negroni Week will see bars and restaurants across Australia take part by taking $1 from each Negroni cocktail or Negroni inspired product sold and donating the funds to a charity of their choice.

Tapping into the rise in popularity and demand of the classic Negroni – an iconic mix of gin, Campari and sweet red vermouth created by chance in Florence around 1920 by Count Camillo Negroni, the Negroni is one of many cocktails which has benefitted from the returning trend of classic cocktails, with many venues also creating their own signature take on this cult classic.

‘A drink for your cause, make it Count’ – with each bar selecting their charity of choice, you can opt to make your drink count through Negroni Week by heading to a bar supporting your cause, or simply opting to order a Negroni at your local. Never has it been so easy or enjoyable to raise money for charity!

To find your local venue participating in Negroni Week or donating to your cause, head to www.negroniweek.com and be sure to share your Negroni on your social media with the hashtag #NegroniWeek

BROTHER BURGER AND THE MARVELLOUS BREW OPENS IN SOUTH YARRA

Adored Fitzroy burger destination, Brother Burger and the Marvellous Brew, has crossed the river to open its second restaurant on Melbourne’s iconic Chapel Street. Owned and operated by Marcelo Tummino, a founding partner of The European and The Supper Club, Brother Burger, as it has been affectionately nicknamed by regulars, combines the winning combination of juicy burgers with independent craft beers. Taking burger dining to a new level, Brother Burger South Yarra envelops customers in its atmospheric and social vibe as soon as they walk in and after one taste they never want to leave.

As far as burgers go, foodies can expect a few tweaks to the menu they know and love, but no deviation from the timeless flavour combinations all made by hand, from scratch. The open kitchen showcases skilled chefs pressing burger patties and baking traditional buns. Menu highlights include: the Royal Blue – 100 per cent full blood wagyu beef patty, blue cheese, bacon, onion jam, house-made pickles and ketchup; Magic Mushie – a mushroom burger for vegetarians; fat chips and onion rings. The South Yarra eatery also caters for those after something different, offering pulled pork buns, a “South Yarra” Reuben sandwich, fish and chips, a selection of salads and gluten free options available including burger buns and batters.

Located at 560 Chapel Street, the South Yarra store will be open seven days from midday to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and closing at 2am on Friday and Saturday.
