Are you a fan of Dion Lee’s sport luxe aesthetic? Block out July 2nd! As part of their Designers for Target program, Target have just announced today that the celebrated designer is collaborating with the iconic retailer for a one-off, 35 piece womenswear collection.

Dion says it was a straightforward decision to release a diffusion range with Target, “I was extremely excited to be contacted by Target with the concept of collaborating. I was familiar with all of Target’s successful international collaborations including Missoni and very happy to be involved in the program”.

As for what to expect from the collection, Dion sums it up succinctly, saying “The Dion Lee for Target collection is designed to reflect the lifestyle of the contemporary woman, mixing elements of tailoring, lounge and active wear, to create the ultimate modern wardrobe”.

The pieces embody his signature tailored detailing, laser cut and intricate technical fabrications, and, as an added bonus, his first-ever performance wear range. “It has been fantastic to work with Target to create my first performance wear pieces, focused on creating modern active wear, balancing function and aesthetics.

“The active Australian lifestyle inspired me to create a range of stylish and effortless clothing for women to wear every day. Even though the designs can be technical, I think style and function remain paramount,” he says of the collection.

The Designer for Target program launched in 2006, and collaborates with both Australian and international designers. Target will release the product details of the Dion Lee for Target range in coming weeks.

The limited edition Dion Lee for Target range will launch in 35 selected stores nationally and online at www.target.com.au/dionlee and features day-to-night clothing, loungewear, performance wear and accessories. The prices range between $25 and $119.
